Landscape architecture is the artful manipulation of the environment to satisfy specific human needs. It is the process of designing and building with skillful means and sincere respect for the natural world and the life forms it sustains.

Its fullest expression contains a dynamic comprehension of earth's natural eco-systems, human environments, human psychology, artistic endeavor and construction methods and materials. SDA engages all of these dimensions within the interplay of design to discover the interconnectedness of each in a definitive search for each project's essential nature and significance. That essential nature is given expression and fulfillment in a visual language of colors, forms, qualities and materials at play in the context of its locale. The end results, are imaginative solutions which celebrate bold funtionality, serene beauty, a magical sense of wonder and an inspired sense of place.
